Accessibility Statement
Effective 2026-09-01
Our commitment. RockTurners is built to be usable by everyone. We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance across the marketing site, app, and legal pages, and we treat accessibility defects with the same urgency as functional bugs.
1. Conformance target
We target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA as our accessibility conformance standard. This covers perceivable contrast, keyboard operability, screen-reader compatibility, and consistent navigation.
2. What we do today
- Semantic HTML (landmarks, headings, lists) across marketing pages and the Lit-based app shell.
- Keyboard-reachable controls with visible focus rings on all interactive elements.
- Color contrast of body text at ≥ 4.5:1 against background.
- Form fields with associated labels and inline validation errors rather than popups or alerts.
- ARIA labels on icon-only buttons and decorative images marked as such.
- In-app modals (e.g. legal consent, destructive-action confirm) expose explicit buttons that screen readers can discover and activate.
3. Known limitations
We are actively working on the following gaps:
- Some heatmap cells on the scan-result card use color alone to encode score intensity; hover tooltips carry the numeric value but a permanent text label is pending.
- The AI-generated output may contain financial jargon that assumes reader familiarity. We are iterating on a glossary tooltip layer.
- Third-party widgets (Clerk sign-in, Stripe checkout) inherit their vendors' accessibility posture; we pass WCAG-relevant configuration when available.
4. Assistive-technology compatibility
We test against recent versions of VoiceOver (macOS, iOS), NVDA (Windows), and the built-in screen-reader tooling in Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. Reports of issues on other assistive technologies are welcome — the contact below routes straight to engineering.
| Assistive technology | Platform | Testing status |
|---|---|---|
| VoiceOver | macOS, iOS | Tested against recent versions |
| NVDA | Windows | Tested against recent versions |
| Built-in browser screen-reader tooling | Chrome, Firefox, Safari | Tested against recent versions |
| Other assistive technologies | Any | Not routinely tested; issue reports welcome |
5. Feedback & remediation
If you hit an accessibility barrier, please let us know and we will respond within 5 business days with either a fix timeline or a workaround.
Contact: [email protected].
6. Formal complaints
Under the ADA and Section 508, U.S. users may also file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice. We prefer to resolve issues directly first, but we respect your right to escalate.
